On January 26, students from Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) schools stood out at the North-Eastern Ontario Regional Elementary Cardboard Boat Race competition for elementary schools. Some 30 teams from various Northern Ontario communities met in Sturgeon Falls to measure their ingenuity. École Alliance St-Joseph (Chelmsford) students were dominant as they won both the gold and silver medals.

Fostering student well-being and resilience at École St-Charles Borromée

As part of its effort to support the well-being and resilience of its students, École St-Charles Borromée (St-Charles) is participating in the “Full Awareness School” (École de pleine conscience) initiative. In order to inform parents of the benefits of this initiative, a presentation will take place on Thursday, January 28, at 11:15 a.m., in the school gymnasium (22 Ste-Anne, St-Charles). Students from École Jean-Paul II take top prize in nation-wide Historica Canada commemorative contest

The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) congratulates the class of Mr. Sylvain Prévost at École Jean-Paul II for winning Historica Canada’s “How We Remember” contest. This nation-wide contest challenged students from across the Country to create a piece around the theme of remembrance of either the First or Second World War.
Some 300 students take part in the CSCNO floor hockey tournament

On January 9 and 10, some 300 grade 3 and 4 students from a dozen Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) Catholic elementary schools had the opportunity to compete in the boys, and girls’ floor hockey tournament. This friendly competition, which took place at École secondaire catholique Champlain (Chelmsford), attracted close to 1,000 spectators over the two days.

CSCNO and AEFO (Unité 61) reach tentative local agreement

The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) and Unité 61 of the Association des enseignantes et des enseignants franco-ontariens (AEFO) reached a tentative local agreement on Saturday, January 9, 2016. Both parties agree to ratify the deal by January 27, 2016.

This event will be of interest to parents of children born in 2012 who will be attending school in September 2016.
