December 7, 2015

During its inaugural December 4, 2015 board meeting, Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) school trustees re-elected Mr. André Bidal as President for the 2015-2016 school year and Mrs. Anne Dechaine as Vice-Presidency for the same term.

“I take great pride in being selected to represent once again the CSCNO. Our vision statement, French Catholic students, proud and ready to take their place in society (Des élèves fiers d’être catholiques et francophones prêts à prendre leur place dans la société), clearly expresses our mandate and reminds us of the added value provided by a French language Catholic education,” stated Mr. André Bidal, CSCNO President.  “Convinced of the quality of education we provide to our students and its importance in the lives of our families, I am greatly motivated to pursue the work that has already been accomplished. I am especially proud to be able to work with a team that takes the success of each and every student to heart.”

The CSCNO board will continue to benefit from the experience of the following school trustees, who continue to serve in the same capacity: André Bidal (Wards 7 to 12, Greater Sudbury); Garry Bruneau (Chapleau, Michipicoten and White River); Normand Courtemanche (Wards 7 to 12, Greater Sudbury); Anne Dechaine (St-Charles, Markstay-Warren and French River); Louise Dubé (Wards 1 to 4, Greater Sudbury); Louise Essiembre (Wards 5 and 6, Greater Sudbury); Paul Gervais (Espanola and North Shore); Marc Larochelle (Wards 7 to 12, Greater Sudbury); Marcel Legault (Wards 5 and 6, Greater Sudbury); Roger Lemoyne (Dubreuilville and Hornepayne); Marcel Montpellier (Wards 1 to 4, Greater Sudbury); and Suzanne Salituri (Sault Ste. Marie).

For her part, Mrs. Lyse-Anne Papineau, Director of Education at the CSCNO, expressed her satisfaction that the CSCNO will continue to benefit from the leadership, commitment and expertise of André Bidal and Anne Dechaine. “These two leaders distinguish themselves through their outstanding work and passion for Francophone Catholic education. They will be steadfast in representing the interests of our Catholic taxpayers at both the local, provincial and national levels.”

The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario offers a French Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence. The CSCNO provides a quality learning environment and academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with some 7,000 students in 27 elementary and 10 secondary schools.
