Some 50 grade 7 and 8 students from various Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) elementary schools will gather in the École secondaire du Sacré-Cœur (261, av. Notre-Dame, Sudbury) on Wednesday, March 9, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., to take part in the CSCNO Science Fair. Members of the media are invited to meet the young scientists.

High school musicians from the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) had the experience of a lifetime at the 13th annual “Quand ça nous chante” music festival. Some 300 up-and-coming musicians from more than 30 Ontario Catholic and public francophone secondary schools took part in this gathering which took place from February 18 to 21 in Timmins.

Three teams from the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) schools will be in Waterloo this week to take part in the Provincial Cardboard Boat Races. Two teams from École Alliance St-Joseph (Chelmsford) and one from École Saint-Joseph (Wawa) earned the right to compete at the provincial level as a result of their outstanding performance at the regional level. The Provincial Carboard Boat Races for elementary schools will take place on Tuesday, March 1.

École secondaire du Sacré-Cœur (261 Notre-Dame Avenue, Sudbury) students and staff will honour Jordan Kilganon, a Sacré-Cœur graduate and a Canadian slam dunking sensation, on Friday, February 26, at 1:20 p.m. Members of the media are invited to this homecoming activity.

Rainbow District School Board, Sudbury Catholic District School Board, Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) and Conseil scolaire public du Grand Nord de l’Ontario (CSPGNO) have approved the School Year Calendar for 2016-2017.

On Tuesday, February 23, 84 Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) students will meet at the Science North Cavern in Sudbury for the 2016 Great Robotic Challenge (Le Grand Défi Robotique). This friendly contest for students representing 11 CSCNO French Catholic elementary schools will see them strive to build the most efficient robot. This year, a video contest will also take place during this event. Members of the media are invited to attend the competition, scheduled to run from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
