The creative team from l’Écho d’un peuple will offer workshops and present its Fier et métissé show in various Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) elementary schools, from Tuesday, April 26 to Wednesday, May 4. Schools welcoming l’Écho d’un peuple will enable students to live a memorable day of Franco-Ontarian pride and Aboriginal awareness.

On April 27 and 29, some 1000 students will have the opportunity to witness a master drummer in action during his tour in four Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) schools. On Wednesday, April 27, Amadou Kienou will present a show at 10 a.m., at École St-Paul (185 6th Avenue, Lively) and at 1:45 p.m. at École catholique Félix-Ricard (691 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury). On Friday, April 29, this artist will display his musical skills at École St-Denis (1200 Ramsey View Court, Sudbury) at 10 a.m., and at École St-Dominique (2096 Montfort St., Sudbury) at 1:30 p.m. Members of the media are invited to attend either of the presentations.

The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) and the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF) reached a tentative local agreement on Saturday, April 16, 2016. Both parties agree to ratify the deal by April 27, 2016.

Some 250 delegates from Ontario’s eight French language Catholic school boards will gather in Sudbury on Tuesday, April 19 and Wednesday, April 20 for the Éducateurs de la foi catholique en Ontario (Catholic faith Educators) congress. The theme of the congress, which will be held at the Holiday Inn in Sudbury, is “Lead me to my Mission” (Mène-moi à ma mission). Attendees will include some 180 administrators, managers, academic advisers, teachers and pastoral leaders, as well as 65 students from the eight Francophone Catholic school boards.

Thanks to the high quality of their science projects, several Collège Notre-Dame (Sudbury) and École St-Thomas (Warren) students stood out during the Sudbury Regional Science Fair held on the Laurentian University campus on April 9 and 10. Collège Notre-Dame students Patrick Trottier and Luc Couture distinguished themselves at the Science Fair through the quality of their science projects. They are among the seven Greater Sudbury students to qualify for the 2016 Canada-Wide Science Fair to be held in Montreal (Québec) on May 14-21. These students are among some 25,000 emerging Canadian scientists from grades 7 through 12 to participate in more than 100 regional science fairs throughout the country.
