The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon is proud to announce the appointment of Ms. Guylaine Rheault as Director of Learning for Grades 7 to 12. Ms. Rheault brings her educational training in administrative management and relevant experience in the field of learning at the intermediate and senior levels to her new role which she will take up on August 18, 2021.

Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon schools will celebrate Catholic Education Week under the theme “Nurturing Hope.” From May 2 to May 7, school boards across the province will promote the added value of a Catholic education and the overall excellence of Francophone Catholic schools.

The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon (CSC Nouvelon), Rainbow District School Board (RDSB), Sudbury Catholic District School Board (SCDSB) and Conseil scolaire public du Grand Nord de l’Ontario (CSPGNO) have approved the School Year Calendar for 2021-2022.

CSC Nouvelon scientists stand out at Sudbury Regional Science Fair

Thanks to the excellence of their science projects, several students from École St-Denis (Sudbury), École Alliance St-Joseph (Chelmsford), Collège Notre-Dame (Sudbury) and École secondaire catholique Champlain (Chelmsford) stood out during the Sudbury Regional Science Fair held on online in April. École St-Denis student Gaïa Dhatt distinguished herself at the Science Fair through the quality of her science project. This Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon student is among the Greater Sudbury students to qualify for the 2021 Canada-Wide Science Fair to be held virtually on May 17-21.

Techno-educational workshop to assist parents

With the intention to support families during this pandemic, the Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon Parents’ Participation Committee is offering during the month of April a series of techno-educational workshops. In light of the important contributions of parents to the learning and well-being of students, these workshops aim to assist families as they continue to support their children in their learning. The last of this series of virtual workshops, led by CSC Nouvelon techno-educational specialists, will be offered via Microsoft Teams.
School Boards Modify and Approve School Year Calendar for 2021-2022

In March of this year, the Ministry of Education requested that all school boards schedule three mandatory Professional Activity (PA) days prior to the start of student instruction for the 2021-2022 school year. As such, all boards in the Algoma District have modified their 2021-2022 school year calendars.
