With the intention to support families during this pandemic, the Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon Parents’ Participation Committee is offering during the month of April a series of techno-educational workshops. In light of the important contributions of parents to the learning and well-being of students, these workshops aim to assist families as they continue to support their children in their learning. The following two virtual workshops, led by CSC Nouvelon techno-educational specialists, will be offered via Microsoft Teams.

The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon is proud to announce the appointment of Ms. Michelle Cotnoir as Director of Wellness and Inclusion. Ms. Cotnoir brings her educational training in administrative management and relevant experience in the field of social services and education to the position, which she will take up on April 19, 2021.

April 7, 2021

Amelia Spacek, a grade 12 student at l’école secondaire Notre-Dame-du-Sault (Sault Ste. Marie), is among the Canadian students selected for the presitigious Loran Scholarship. Every year, The Loran Scholars Foundation assesses over 5,000 applicants and select some 30 promising young Canadians as Loran Scholars, based on evidence of integrity, courage, leadership, community involvement, compassion, grit, and a high level of personal autonomy. This soon-to-be ES Notre-Dame-du-Sault graduate will receive a scholarship award valued at $100,000 over four years, including mentorship, funding for summer internships and participation in an extensive network of past and present scholars.

The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon is proud to announce the appointment of Ms. Josée Ruddy as Director of Human Resources. Ms. Ruddy brings her educational training in administrative management and relevant experience in the field of human resources to the position, which she will take up on April 12, 2021.

The health and safety of students and employees remains CSC Nouvelon’s top priority. On the advice of Public Health Sudbury & Districts, all elementary and secondary schools from the Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon located in Sudbury East, Greater Sudbury and Espanola will remain closed until Friday, April 9, 2021. The following week, from Monday, April 12, to Friday, April 16, students will be enjoying their Spring Break. Day cares located in our schools will however remain open but will not offer before and after-school programs.
