L’école catholique Georges Vanier launches 50th anniversary celebrations art exhibition

As part of the celebrations of its 50th anniversary, École catholique Georges Vanier (140 Hillside Drive North, Elliot Lake), will host an art exhibition entitled “Galerie d’OR” (Golden Art Galerie). Everyone is invited to this art exhibition to take place at the school on Friday, November 15, starting at 12-noon, and admire the masterpieces of the young artists of the school! Through the support and artistic guidance of Ms. Julie Merk, a retired teacher at École catholique Georges Vanier, the students created works in the manner of various artists under study. This is an event not to be missed!

Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon elementary and secondary schools stood tall at the Regional Cardboard Boat Race competitions which took place in Marathon (October 30) and Sault Ste. Marie (November 5 and 7) with teams from École catholique Georges Vanier (Elliot Lake) and École Saint-Joseph (Wawa) taking home medals. Some 50 Northern Ontario teams from various communities took part in the challenge.

Book Fairs to take place in CSC Nouvelon schools

Several Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon schools will be hosting a book fair featuring French-language books and educational products in November. The book fairs will allow students and their families to choose from a variety of French-language educational products such as books, posters and educational games. The book fairs will also benefit the schools, as part of the profits will go towards the purchase of new educational resources. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.

Students and staff at École secondaire catholique Champlain (61 Brookside Road, Chelmsford) will mark Remembrance Day on Monday, November 11. As part of their "Standing in Solidarity" day, the school will pay tribute to the members of the Canadian Armed Forces who fought to defend our values and freedoms, as well as those who continue to serve our country today. Community members and media representatives are invited to this activity.

ESC Champlain holding their 11th annual Homeless for a Night activity

During the night of Wednesday, October 9, some 110 students from École secondaire catholique Champlain (Chelmsford) will take part in the Homeless for a Night activity, accompanied by three staff members. This year marks the 11th consecutive Homeless for a Night activity for Champlain. This awareness activity will begin at 4 p.m. in the Place Bonaventure Mall located on Highway 144 in Chelmsford. The event will conclude on Thursday, October 10, at 8 a.m.

The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Sérika Arsenault Walosik as Vice-Principal at École catholique Félix-Ricard (Sudbury) starting on October 7, 2019. A former teacher at the CSC Nouvelon, Ms. Sérika Arsenault Walosik recently held the position of Vice-Principal at École Jean-Paul II (Val Caron) .
