Mr. Paul Henry, Director of Education at the Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Chantal Lafleur as Director of Special Education Services. With a rich and varied experience in teaching and school administration, Ms. Lafleur replaces Ms. Tracy Rossini, who has held this position since 2013. Chantal Lafleur will assume her new functions in mid-July, 2020.

The COVID-19 (Coronavirus) crisis and the efforts to counter the virus have resulted in the cancellation of several activities across the province as well as the closing of all schools in Ontario.

Yesterday afternoon, the Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon was informed that the Ontario government is closing all schools across the province for two weeks (from March 14 to April 5) due to growing concerns about coronavirus (COVID-19). This ministerial decision aims to protect the safety, health and well-being of the population.

Before taking up his new duties, he will serve as Associate Director of Education at the Conseil as of November 11, 2019.

The Association des enseignantes et des enseignants franco-ontariens (AEFO), the union that represents teaching staff, short- and long-term supply teachers in all Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon schools, as well as the board learning consultants, will conduct a one-day full strike – withdrawal of all services – across the province of Ontario on Thursday, March 5, 2020 since no contract agreement has yet been reached. The Districts of Sudbury, Manitoulin and Algoma are among the targeted areas.
