Celebrating the official opening of Carrefour Options+ new learning environment

The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon invites the media to attend the official opening of Carrefour Options+ new learning environment. This event will take place on Thursday, January 30, at 1 p.m. at Carrefour Options+ which now operates on the second floor of the St. Albert Adult Learning Centre, located at 504 St. Raphael Street, in Sudbury. The official opening will be followed by a tour of the school’s new space.

Appointments of new Superintendent of Education and Executive Director of Learning at the CSC Nouvelon

Mr. Paul Henry, Director of Education at the Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon, is proud to announce the nomination of Ms. Tammy Séguin to the position of Superintendent of Education and Ms. Tracy Rossini to the position of Executive Director of Learning. Ms. Séguin and Ms. Rossini each possess a rich and varied experience in teaching and school administration at the elementary and secondary levels in Ontario. Both Tammy Séguin and Tracy Rossini will assume their new roles as of February 3, 2020.

Since they have not yet reached an agreement with the government, the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF), which represents support staff in all of Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon’ schools and at the board office, will conduct a one-day full strike and withdraw all services in certain regions of Ontario on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. The Sudbury and Manitoulin Districts are among the targeted areas.

Kindergarten Registration at CSC Nouvelon schools on January 20-24

Parents wishing to register their child in a French-language Kindergarten program are invited to come discover Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon’s elementary schools during its Kindergarten Registration event from Monday, January 20, to Friday, January 24. This event will be of interest to parents of children born in 2016 who will be attending school in September 2020. All parents are cordially invited to attend, along with their families.

Open House at CSC Nouvelon secondary schools

Grade 8 students and parents are invited to take part in the Open House events for all French language Catholic secondary schools of the Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon from Tuesday, January 14, to Thursday, January 16. With its network of French language Catholic secondary schools in Sudbury, Val Caron, Chelmsford, Espanola, Blind River, Sault Ste. Marie, Wawa and Chapleau, the CSC Nouvelon offers a French language Catholic educational program recognized for its excellence, innovation.
