Carrefour Options+ celebrates the first graduates of its Personal Support Worker program

On June 20, the Carrefour Options+ school community proudly celebrated the first two graduates of its Personal Support Worker (PSW) program. Alyssa Bélanger and Sylvie Trottier received their PSW certification as well as their pin and certificate from the Ontario Long Term Care Association.
Opening up to the world during École St-Dominique’s Olympics

For more than 25 years, at the end of June, students at École St-Dominique (2096 Montfort Street, Sudbury) have the opportunity to take part in the school’s Olympics. For a few days, students from kindergarten to grade 6 are divided into teams representing different countries to partake in sports activities and knowledge games. This year, the Olympics opening ceremony will take place on Monday, June 26, and the activities will take place on June 27 and 29. The closing ceremony and presentation of medals will be held on Thursday, June 29

CSC Nouvelon elementary students to take part in track and field competition

Media representatives are cordially invited to attend the upcoming Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon elementary school track and field competition. Some 350 grade 4 to 6 students from over 15 Greater Sudbury area schools will gather at the Laurentian University athletic track on Wednesday, June 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., to take part in this annual friendly competition.

A special anniversary for Sudbury’s St-Jean!

Sudbury—St-Jean-Baptiste has been celebrated in the Greater Sudbury community since the early 1900s. However, since 1998, a committee made up of community organizations and the media has been organizing the celebration in a variety of formats. And this year, the committee is celebrating its 25th anniversary!

More than 1,200 grade 4 to 8 students to take part in St-Jean Baptiste concert

On Thursday, June 1, at 10:30 a.m., over 1,200 grade 4 to 8 Francophone students from some 20 Greater Sudbury, Sudbury East, and Espanola schools will gather at Bell Park’s Grace Hartman Amphitheatre for a St-Jean Baptiste concert featuring the Francophone artist LeFLOFRANCO with DJ Skorpyon. The concert is presented jointly by the Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon and Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord as part of the 25th anniversary of St-Jean Sudbury.

An evening of music with Collège Notre-Dame’s Le Bistro

On Friday, June 2, at 6:30 p.m., Le Bistro, Collège Notre-Dame’s (CND) singing café will present its end-of-the year repertoire to the public. The concert will take place in the school gymnasium located at 100 Lévis Street in Sudbury. The students are proud to be able to share their musical talent through this event. Tickets are $5 each and snacks will be available for purchase during the intermission. There will also be a sale of works of art created by the school’s visual arts students.
