Sudbury – Yesterday, the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) released the results of Ontario’s grade 9 students from the 2012-2013 provincial testing. The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) is very pleased with the steady improvement of its secondary school students’ results in mathematics over the last five years.

Fifth annual CSCNO elementary school golf tournament

WHAT? CSCNO elementary school golf tournament
Media representatives are cordially invited to attend the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario’s (CSCNO) Fifth Annual Elementary School Golf Tournament on Friday, September 27. Some 50 students will gather at the Pine Grove Golf Course (Highway 69) in Sudbury to take part in this annual friendly competition. Students from the following nine schools will compete in this annual tournament: St-Denis (Sudbury), St-Joseph (Sudbury), Félix-Ricard (Sudbury), St-Augustin (Garson), Jean-Paul II (Val Caron), Notre-Dame (Hamner), Ste-Marie (Azilda), Alliance St-Joseph (Chelmsford) and Saint-Joseph (Espanola).
Over 2,100 CSCNO students set to celebrate provincial Franco-Ontarian Day

On Wednesday, September 25, at 10 a.m., over 2,100 elementary and secondary students from some 15 Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) schools will gather at Place Bonaventure (4764 Regional Road) in Chelmsford to take part in the celebration of the provincial Franco-Ontarian Day. As it has since 2008, this annual Francophone pride event will begin with an animated march and conclude with a host of events on the École secondaire catholique Champlain school grounds (61 Brookside St.). All members of the community are invited to attend this event organized by Champlain students and staff. First held in 2008, this pride building activity is very popular among CSCNO students, staff and families.

The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) is proud to announce that its elementary students (grades 3 and 6) have shown a steady improvement in reading, writing and mathematics over the last five years.

Public information session on the delivery of education in Espanola on September 19

The Ministry of Education is encouraging area school boards to work together to address student accommodation needs in Espanola. The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario, Rainbow District School Board and the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board are collaborating to determine how best to deliver education in English and in French in this community.
