On Thursday, January 19, Espanola students from École secondaire catholique Franco-Ouest, École Saint-Joseph and Sacred Heart School will offer a warm welcome Joe Roberts, a former homeless youth and current entrepreneur, who will be pushing a shopping cart (a symbol of chronic homelessness) through the streets of Espanola. This stop is just one of many in the Joe Roberts 9,000 kilometre, 517-day “Push for Change” trek across Canada initiative for raising awareness and funds to help end youth homelessness.

ESC Franco-Ouest students and community welcome Joe Roberts on his arrival in Espanola.
11:55 a.m to 12:30 p.m.
A 2-kilometre walk starting at the corner of Tudhope St. and Mead Blvd. towards the Espanola Recreation Centre.
12:30 p.m.
Hot chocolate and doughnuts – offered Tim Horton in Espanola amd McKerrow.
12:50 to 1:45 p.m. Espanola Recreation Centre
Joe Roberts speaks to students from École secondaire catholique Franco-Ouest and grade 7 and 8 students from École Saint-Joseph and Sacred Heart School. Also taking part will be local residents. In his presentation to students, Joe Roberts will speak on the prevention of youth homelessness.
