Sudbury’s Collège Notre-Dame (CND) recently launched its 28th annual fundraising campaign in support of the Northern Cancer Research Foundation. With some 200 students taking part in the February 29th annual door-to-door blitz across Greater Sudbury, the CND was able to raise $12,392. Including this most recent donation, total funds raised by Collège Notre-Dame during the last 28 years are close to $700,000.
Collège Notre-Dame students, families and staff strongly support the Foundation’s dedication to promoting cutting-edge cancer research and the offering of quality care to Northern Ontario patients.
“All CND students and staff want to thank the Greater Sudbury community for their generous donations. The ongoing support of Greater Sudbury residents is a great motivator and helps us to continue our fund raising campaign and participate in the efforts to beat cancer,” declared Mrs. Johanne Chrétien, Collège Notre-Dame Principal.
“We are proud to know that so many Collège Notre-Dame teenagers have such a strong involvement in the community and want to contribute to its wellbeing,” stated Mrs. Lyse-Anne Papineau, Director of Education at the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario. “Faith, hope and charity are our guiding virtues at the CSCNO. We congratulate our students for their leadership qualities and recognize that they are all remarkable Catholic citizens.”
