On Wednesday, May 20, Collège Notre-Dame’s (CND) Le Bistro singing café will present its new repertoire to the public. Doors open at 7 pm at the school located at 100 Lévis Street in Sudbury. Snacks will be available for purchase during the intermission. There will also be a sale of student- created artwork as well as a silent auction. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the Collège Notre-Dame main office or at the door prior to show time. All profits will go the school’s Free the Children Committee to build a school in Ghana, Africa.
The student members of Le Bistro will present hits by Francophone artists such as Céline Dion, Dany Bédar, Ariane Moffatt and Les Respectables as well as a few original compositions. The production, guided by music teacher Mrs. Renée Dupuis, will please music enthusiasts of all ages. Launched in 2006, Le Bistro finds its musical inspiration in blues, rock, country and folk music, and obviously, in French song.
For the first time, the show will also include three dance numbers. Under the direction of Mrs. Danika Brabant, physical education and dance teacher, the girls’ dance performance will include a medley of jazz, contemporary and hip-hop dance numbers.
