On Saturday, January 17, and Sunday, January 18, more than 350 grade 3 and 4 students from 15 Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) Catholic elementary schools will compete in the boys and girls’ floor hockey tournament. This friendly competition, to take place at École secondaire catholique Champlain (61 Brookside Drive, Chelmsford), will attract more than 1,100 spectators over two days.

On Saturday, January 17, 16 teams representing 15 CSCNO schools will compete in the boys’ grade 3-4 tournament. The following day, 12 schools will measure their hockey skills in the girls’ grade 3-4 tournament that promotes friendly competition, fair play and francophone camaraderie. On both days, competition will begin at 9 a.m. and the championship game is scheduled at 3 p.m.

The following schools will compete in the CSCNO floor hockey tournaments: Ste-Marie (Azilda), Alliance St-Joseph (Chelmsford), St-Étienne (Dowling), St-Augustin (Garson), Notre-Dame and St-Joseph (Hanmer), St-Joseph (Espanola), St-Paul (Lively) Jean-Paul II (Val Caron), Ste-Thérèse (Val Thérèse) as well as Félix-Ricard, St-Denis, St-Dominique, St-Joseph and St-Pierre (Sudbury).

The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario offers a French Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence. The CSCNO provides a quality learning environment and academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with some 7,000 students in 27 elementary and 10 secondary schools.
