On November 22 and 23, 114 grade 5 and 6 students from nine Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) schools took part in the CSCNO’s Doubles Badminton Tournament held at École secondaire catholique l’Horizon (Val Caron). No less than 28 boys’ teams competed on Saturday while 29 pairs faced each other in the girls’ doubles competition.

This friendly tournament attracted the participation of students from the following nine schools: Jean-Paul II (Val Caron), Alliance St-Joseph (Chelmsford), Notre-Dame (Hanmer), St-Pierre (Sudbury), St-Paul (Lively), St-Joseph (Sudbury), St-Dominique (Sudbury), Félix-Ricard (Sudbury) and St-Augustin (Garson).

Boys

1st place:            Tyler Roussel and Jackson Major, Alliance St-Joseph (Chelmsford)
2nd place:             Mathieu Boucher and Adrian Signoretti, Jean Paul II (Val Caron)
3rd place:             Ben Lacroix and Brady Wylie, Notre-Dame (Hanmer)

Girls

1st place:            Janelle Joly and Kayla Boulet, Alliance St-Joseph (Chelmsford)
2nd place:             Emma Coutu and Brooke St-Denis, Alliance St-Joseph (Chelmsford)
3rd place:             Aneisha Rismond and Brianna Potvin, Alliance St-Joseph (Chelmsford)
