The Ministry of Education is encouraging area school boards in Elliot Lake to work together to address student accommodation needs. As a result, the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) and the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board (HSCDSB) are collaborating to determine how to best deliver quality Catholic education in English and in French to their students.

The CSCNO and HSCDSB will each host a public information session with their respective school communities on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 6 p.m.

The CSCNO will hold its session in the library at École élémentaire catholique Georges Vanier (140 Hillside Drive North) while HSCDSB will hold its meeting in the library at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School (140 Hillside Drive North).

During these sessions, both school boards will present to their school communities the feasibility and evaluation of various options pertaining to the utilization of

École élémentaire catholique Georges Vanier and Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School. The goal of this collaborative effort is to maximize the use of space while ensuring that all students continue to have access to the best programming possible in quality school facilities.

The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel Ontario (CSCNO) operates one French Catholic elementary school in Elliot Lake – École élémentaire catholique Georges Vanier.

Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board has two English Catholic elementary schools in Elliot Lake – Our Lady of Lourdes French Immersion Catholic School and Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School.
