October 7, 2014

During the night of Wednesday, October 8, 104 students and six staff members from École secondaire catholique Champlain (Chelmsford) will take part in the Homeless for a Night activity. This awareness activity will begin at 4 p.m. at the Métro supermarket parking lot located on Errington Street in Chelmsford. The event will conclude on Thursday, October 9, at 9 a.m.

With only cardboard boxes and tarps as shelters, the students will experience the reality of being homeless. They will also collect non-perishable food items and monetary donations. Through their efforts and the support of Rayside-Balfour citizens, they hope to collect several boxes of food items as well as monetary donations that will be used to purchase winter boots for less fortunate families in the community.

The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario offers a French Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence.
