April 8, 2013
Starting at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, April 12, some 30 students from Collège Notre-Dame in Sudbury will participate in an activity under a fictional starry sky. During approximately 20 hours, gathered in the school with their sleeping bags and flashlights, the students will take part in the third edition of the “Camping Under a Fictional Starry Sky” (Camping sous les étoiles fictives) activity. This reading-camping session will wrap up on Saturday morning, at 11 .a.m., following a pancake breakfast.
With this activity, supported by the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario through its efforts to promote reading among all, Collège Notre-Dame will be motivated to accumulate many minutes of reading time. By adding fun, delicious snacks and entertaining activities to this night of reading, students will be able to devour many books, discover new authors and experience an exciting extracurricular activity with their friends.
The Camping Under a Fictional Starry Sky activity has gained in popularity at Collège Notre-Dame. Whereas 11 students took part in 2011, this activity is expected to draw some 30 avid readers, seeking to devour many books in a fun-filled setting.
