Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon students will celebrate the provincial Franco-Ontarian Day along with staff and parents in their school on Monday, September 25. They will take part in a multitude of dynamic activities in their schools and communities planned to honour the strength of their francophone community. The following is a list of activities hosted by CSC Nouvelon schools. Members of the media are invited to attend.

Grade 9 to 12 students from École secondaire catholique La Renaissance (Espanola) will travel to ÉSC Jeunesse-Nord (Blind River) to celebrate Franco-Ontarian Day. From 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., students will take part in a flag-raising ceremony, a scavenger hunt and will be offered a barbecue lunch. Musical entertainment will be provided by ÉSC Jeunesse-Nord students and Mr. Rodney Meilleur, cultural activities lead at the CSC Nouvelon. 

Students and staff from École secondaire du Sacré-Cœur (Sudbury) will take part in the flag-raising ceremony at 10:30 a.m. 

Students from École St-Denis (Sudbury) will take part in a tintamarre (animated march) from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Students in kindergarten to grade 3 will gather in the parking lot and in front of the school, while grade 4 to 8 students will be dispersed on the sidewalks along Paris Street, in front of James Jerome Sports Complex and Health Sciences North. 

Students from École Sacré-Cœur (Chapleau) will take part in a parade through the streets of Chapleau at 1:30 p.m., before joining the Francophone community at City Hall at 2 p.m. for a flag-raising ceremony. 

Students from École St-Antoine (Noëlville) will walk to the Noëlville Municipal Office from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. to help take part in the flag-raising ceremony. The students will also dance to the song "Mon beau drapeau." 

École Alliance St-Joseph (Chelmsford) will celebrate the day, starting at 9:15 a.m., with a variety of pride activities for students, including a rallying cry, singing the songs "Notre Place" and "Mon beau drapeau," and taking part in the Défi Franco. Afterwards, the school community will participate in the raising of the Franco-Ontarian flag. 

At École Notre-Dame-du-Sault (Sault Ste. Marie), elementary students and school staff will go to City Hall at 11 a.m. and then to Clergue Park at 11:30 a.m. to take part in activities organized by the Centre francophone de Sault-Ste-Marie. They will take part in the flag-raising ceremony and enjoy musical presentations. In the morning, secondary school students will take part in a flag-raising ceremony followed by Francophone identity-building activities at school.

Students at École St-Augustin (Garson) will start the day with a special broadcast on the school’s student radio station. After the flag-raising ceremony at 11 a.m., students will take part in a variety of activities organized by the teaching staff.

At 11:15 a.m., students from École Ste-Thérèse (Val Thérèse) will gather to take part in the flag-raising ceremony while singing "Notre place. Afterwards, from 11:20 a.m. to 12-noon, students and staff will take part in a tintamarre and march with instruments through the streets in the vicinity of the school. Students' parents and grandparents are invited to take part in the Franco-Ontarian pride parade.

The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon offers a French-language Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence. The CSC Nouvelon provides a quality learning environment and academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with some 5,900 students enrolled in 27 elementary, 1 virtual school and 10 secondary schools.
