October 4, 2022

During the night of Wednesday, October 5, some 100 students from École secondaire catholique Champlain (Chelmsford) will take part in the Homeless for a Night activity, accompanied by staff members. This year marks the 12th Homeless for a Night event for Champlain. This awareness activity will begin at 4 p.m. in the ÉSC Champlain school property located at 61 Brookside Road in Chelmsford. The event will conclude on Thursday, October 6, at 8 a.m.

With only cardboard boxes and tarps for shelters, the students will experience the reality of being homeless. They will also collect non-perishable food items and monetary donations. Community members are encouraged to stop by for a visit and donate to this great cause. All past participants are also invited to stop by in the evening to stand in solidarity and sign a commemorative poster.

The monetary donations will be used to purchase winter clothing for the less fortunate in the community as well as items for the Sudbury Infant Food Bank and the Chelmsford Food Bank, which will also accept the food donations collected during the event.
