Two Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon schools recently earned a Healthy Schools Certification from the Ontario Physical Education and Health Association (OPHEA) for the 2021-2022 school year. With this designation, OPHEA recognizes the ongoing efforts of participating schools to promote and enhance the health and well-being of students, school staff, and the broader school community. École St-Denis School (Sudbury) obtained a silver level certification while École Saint Nom de Jesus (Hornepayne) earned a bronze level certification.

 This year, École St-Denis students took part in many activities that ensured their well-being as well as a feeling of belonging and inclusion. Obtaining the silver level certification recognizes the efforts made to strengthen their school climate as well as the quality of life at school. The school team played an important role in promoting fun, harmony, and equity at École St-Denis!

Committed to improving the health and well-being of students, École Saint Nom de Jésus put in place a healthy snack program allowing students to start their school day on the right foot and with a full stomach in order to proceed with their learning. The Saint Nom de Jésus school team has noted an improvement in students’ engagement, concentration and overall mood. The success of the health promotion program was made possible through to the commitment of Saint Nom de Jésus school staff.

The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon offers a French-language Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence. The CSC Nouvelon provides a quality learning environment and academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with some 6,100 students enrolled in 27 elementary, 1 virtual school and 10 secondary schools.
