Mr. Paul Henry, Director of Education and Secretary-Treasurer of the Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon, was recently selected to serve as President of the Council of Ontario Directors of Education in 2022-2023. The CODE is an advisory and consultative organization composed of the Directors of Education of all 72 district school boards in Ontario and the Consortium du Centre Jules-Léger (CCJL). It is the common public voice of senior school district administrators working with government and various associations.
Director of Education and Secretary-Treasurer of the CSC Nouvelon since January 2020, Mr. Henry had previously served as Associate Director of Education and Superintendent of Education and possesses a rich and varied experience in teaching and school administration at the elementary and secondary levels in Ontario. Paul Henry began his career in education in 1990, and over the last 25 years has held the positions of school principal and vice-principal, learning consultant at the CSC Nouvelon and senior specialist in education for the Ontario Ministry of Education.
In addition to this leadership position at the CODE, Mr. Henry will also serve as President of the Conseil ontarien des directions des écoles catholiques (CODEC) and Destination Réussite NORD. He is also set to serve as a board member for the Consortium pour les élèves du Nord de l’Ontario (CÉNO), Association des gestionnaires de l’éducation franco-ontarienne (AGÉFO) and Consortium Centre Jules-Léger. Much appreciated for his contributions as a volunteer and commitment to his community, Mr. Henry has been conferred several honours including Officer (OStJ) of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem by HM and Sovereign Queen Elizabeth the Second and was appointed Knight Commander of Justice (KCLJ-J) of the Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem.. Furthermore, Mr. Henry is also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion as a Retired Major.
The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon offers a French-language Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence. The CSC Nouvelon provides a quality learning environment and academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with some 6,100 students enrolled in 27 elementary, 1 virtual school and 10 secondary schools.
