On Thursday, June 9, at 6:30 p.m., Collège Notre-Dame’s (CND) Le Bistro singing café will present its new repertoire to the public. The concert will take place in the school gymnasium located at 100 Lévis Street in Sudbury. After two years without a live presentation, the students are proud to be able to present an in-person show. Tickets are $5 each and snacks will be available for purchase during the intermission. There will also be a sale of works of art created by the school’s visual arts students.

The Bistro is made up of CND music students from grades 9 to 12. Under the direction of Ms. Renée Dupuis, the performance will please music enthusiasts of all ages. Launched in 2006, Le Bistro finds its musical inspiration in blues, rock, country and folk, and obviously, French music.

Students will present hits by artists from across Canada such as Franco-Ontarian Andrea Lindsay, Acadian Lisa Leblanc as well as hits by artists from Québec such as Ariane Moffatt, Daniel Bélanger and Charlotte Cardin. The students will also honour their French roots with songs by Louane, Grégoire, Angèle and Dumé. The Bistro will also present hits by international French-speaking artists such as the Compagnie Créole and Patrick Bruel. Their presentation will also include translated hits from artists such as Bob Seger and CCR.

Tickets can be purchased at Collège Notre-Dame’s main office or at the door prior to show time. Proceeds from ticket sales will go towards CND's music program while proceeds from the sale of artwork will support the school’s  Art Club in the upcoming school year.
