Ms. Lynn MacLean, Principal of École catholique La Renaissance (Espanola), was recently awarded a School and Community Leadership Award from the Association des directions et des directions adjointes des écoles franco-ontariennes (ADFO) (Association of Principals and Vice-Principals of Franco-Ontarian Schools) during its annual conference held virtually. This prize is awarded each year to three persons who stand out for their commitment, contributions and leadership towards the community as well as their school community.

Having served as Principal in various Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon schools since 2007, Lynn Maclean was entrusted in 2017 with the mandate of directing École Saint-Joseph and École secondaire catholique Franco-Ouest in Espanola. While contributing to the construction project of the new École catholique La Renaissance, she directs these two schools and will see to their merger to become a Kindergarten to grade 12 school. The new École catholique La Renaissance will welcome its elementary and secondary school students to its new premises in September 2021.

While being committed to the Francophone and Catholic community of Espanola, Lynn MacLean is also recognized for her contributions to St-Joseph Parish in Chelmsford and to the Café Héritage cultural group which promotes the cultural diversity, Francophone heritage and history of Rayside-Balfour. Lynn contributes as well to the local ADFO association and has served as a mentor to several CSC Nouvelon principals.

"By keeping our students and our communities at the heart of her priorities and by seeking to make a difference in our schools, Lynn has greatly contributed to the development of French-language Catholic education in Greater Sudbury and Espanola communities. "

The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon offers a French-language Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence. The CSC Nouvelon provides a quality learning environment and academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with some 6,400 students enrolled in 27 elementary, 1 virtual school and 10 secondary schools.
