At its June 18, 2020 board meeting, the Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon proceeded with the unveiling of two staff members who are being recognized for their exceptional contributions: Ms. Carol Bradley-Whissell and Ms. Chantal Rioux, teachers at École secondaire catholique Champlain (Chelmsford). This distinction, which is awarded to two employees each year, recognizes individuals who truly stand out in their role.
Carol Bradley-Whissell is recognized for her commitment to ÉSC Champlain students and her community. This teacher stands out for her involvement in activities promoting Francophone identity, Christian faith, equity and inclusion. While very involved with Franco-Ontarian Day activities, Ms. Bradley Whissell organizes leadership camps and supports students involved in provincial activities. In addition, she organizes the Homeless for an Evening event, food drives, outings to the soup kitchen, humanitarian trips to Latin America and forges close and lasting ties with the parish and community partners.
Chantal Rioux is a French-speaking and Catholic role model. Highly involved in school life, this teacher takes part in all the cultural and pastoral activities at ÉSC Champlain including the Homeless for an Evening event, the food drive and the Christmas basket project. Organizer of the Génies en herbe (Reach for the Top) tournament, Ms. Rioux is always available to support students in their academic success. Passionate about the environment, she heads the Eco-School group, which organizes ecological activities and makes it possible for students to participate in community environmental projects including the cleaning of Junction Creek.
“It is extremely important for us to take the time to honour the exceptional individuals who contribute to the high standards of the Catholic, French-language education offered in our schools,” explained Mr. André Bidal, CSC Nouvelon Board Chair.
“We are very lucky to have employees like Carol and Chantal who give themselves, heart and soul, for their students and their school,” stated Mr. Paul Henry, Director of Education at the CSC Nouvelon.
The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon offers a French-language Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence. The CSC Nouvelon provides a quality learning environment and academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with some 6,700 students enrolled in 27 elementary and 10 secondary schools.
