The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon recently approved new placement for the 2020-2021 school year. The CSC Nouvelon is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Pier-Olivier Arsenault as Principal at École catholique Georges-Va

nier (Elliot Lake) and Ms. Mireille Miron as Vice-Principal at École catholique La Renaissance (Espanola).

Mr. Pier-Olivier Arsenault, who will serve as Principal at École catholique Georges Vanier, has worked in the field of education since 2009. Mr. Arsenault has accumulated relevant experience in various French-language elementary schools in Hamilton, Orangeville, Ottawa, Trenton and Brockville. Mr. Arsenault, who most recently held the position of wellness and safety consultant at the Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario, has a specialization in Special Education. Ms. Mireille Miron, who will assume the duties of Vice-Principal at École catholique La Renaissance, has teaching experience in Southern, Eastern and Northern Ontario. Having served as Vice Principal at Collège Notre-Dame (Sudbury) in 2017-2018, Ms. Miron then held the position of Principal at École catholique Nouveau Regard (Cochrane). This last position in a Kindergarten to grade 12 school will be an asset since École catholique La Renaissance will unite students from École Saint-Joseph and École secondaire catholique Franco-West in the upcoming school year.

“Mr. Arsenault’s and Ms. Miron’s knowledge and experience within Francophone schools will make them great assets in their respective schools. Our principals and vice-principals play a key role in our Catholic professional learning community,” stated Mr. Paul Henry, Director of Education at CSC Nouvelon. “We greatly value the capabilities and leadership skills that enable them to engage our students and staff in achieving their full potential.”

The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon offers a French-language Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence. The CSC Nouvelon provides a quality learning environment and academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with some 6,700 students enrolled in 27 elementary and 10 secondary schools.
