Ms. Anne Ross-Boudreau, a teacher at École Jean-Paul II (Val Caron), was presented with the Sudbury Regional Science Fair’s Ambassador for Science Award during its April 7, 2019, awards ceremony. Ms. Ross-Boudreau, who has been teaching science for over 15 years at various Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) schools, currently shares her passion for the subject with grades 7 and 8 students at École Jean-Paul II. The Ambassador for Science Award honours a teacher for the help and encouragement provided to students throughout the preparation of their science fair projects.
Anne Ross-Boudreau stands out among her peers through her ceaseless efforts to promote the importance of science to her students by describing the numerous career opportunities that exist in this field. She is always available to assist any student who requires extra attention or time. Her commitment has helped her teams showcase their skills at the Sudbury Regional Science Fair for four years running.
“We are extremely lucky to have teachers as loyal and passionate as Ms. Ross-Boudreau on our team,” explained the CSCNO Director of Education, Ms. Lyse-Anne Papineau. “Our students truly benefit from her commitment to their success.”
“A teacher who shares enthusiasm for the sciences with students by providing them with the support and tools they need to develop a science fair project they can be proud of, deserves recognition,” added Mr. André Paquette, Principal at École Jean-Paul II. “Quite often, it is because of the passion and dedication of a teacher that students choose to pursue a future career in science and technology.”
The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario offers a French Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence. The CSCNO provides a quality learning environment and academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with some 7,000 students enrolled in 27 elementary and 10 secondary schools.
