As part of the activities of the 33^rd conference of the Fédération nationale des conseils scolaires francophones (FNCSF) held in Sudbury from October 26 to 28, the Regroupement national des directions générales de l'éducation (RNDGE) awarded the Academic Perseverance Scholarship to three graduates of French-language schools in a minority setting. Among the students honoured with this $1,000 scholarship, which recognizes courage, perseverance, and commitment, is Aiden Thibert, a graduate of École secondaire catholique l'Horizon (Val Caron). The Academic Perseverance Scholarships recognize the success of all students, regardless of their academic results, and encourage the pursuit of post-secondary studies in French.

A respectful, smiling, and helpful student, Aiden Thibert stands out for his determination and unshakable perseverance. Having had to overcome obstacles and challenges since grade 8, Aiden was able to benefit from the support of teachers at his secondary school, friends, and family, to complete his secondary studies with flying colours.

Confident and determined, Aiden is currently pursuing his post-secondary studies in the Business Administration program at Collège Boréal. Afterwards, he hopes to complete a Bachelor of Business Administration at Laurentian University and aspires to pursue a career in the entrepreneurial sector.

The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon offers a French-language Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence. The CSC Nouvelon provides a quality learning environment and academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with some 5,900 students enrolled in 27 elementary, 1 virtual school and 10 secondary schools.
