The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon is proud to be offering a range of summer programs again this year that are aimed at improving student competencies. The programs will be run in July at École catholique Félix-Ricard (Sudbury) to help students who need additional support to be better prepared when the 2019-2020 school year begins. Some 65 students are expected to benefit from this summer program.
The goals of the verbal communication program for Kindergarten students and the literacy programs for grades 1 and 2 children is to improve their language skills and consolidate their acquired reading and writing abilities. The program for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) students is to help them thrive in a welcoming environment that is dedicated to skills development.
These free summer programs, run by a team of highly qualified CSC Nouvelon professionals, foster the growth of students’ skill set by means of a wide range of activities. The teachers’ expertise ensures that the programs are of superior quality and make use of winning practices while also addressing the individual needs of each student participant.
“At the CSC Nouvelon, we know full well that every child has the potential to succeed. Our goal is to always provide our students with the tools they need to reach that potential,” explained Ms. Lyse-Anne Papineau, Director of Education at CSC Nouvelon. “Helping children thrive is at the heart of everything we do, and these kinds of programs help us to successfully raise the level of their academic performance, which sometimes is in need of additional support,” she added.

The CSC Nouvelon provides a quality learning environment and academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with some 7,000 students enrolled in 27 elementary and 10 secondary schools.
