From 1997 to 2018, Anne Dechaine showed remarkable passion for French-language Catholic education
and outstanding work as a school board trustee. During her more than 20 years as a school board trustee,
Ms. Dechaine held the title of Vice-President for three terms and President for one. She also sat on various
committees, including the Leadership in Catholic Education Committee, the Parent Involvement Committee
and the Special Education Advisory Committee. The success of each and every student is extremely
important to her and she always sought to ensure that students with special needs had the support and
services they needed to succeed.
“Anne Dechaine’s open-mindedness and lasting commitment to encouraging her peers in their roles as
school board trustees has spurred them to become leaders in their own right,” stated CSC Nouvelon
President Mr. André Bidal.

“Anne is a Christian leader and has always been very active in her school communities,” added Ms. Lyse-
Anne Papineau, Director of Education at CSC Nouvelon. “She regularly visited the schools in her zone to
celebrate student successes and highlight the exceptional work of staff members. As a volunteer in her
parish in Coniston, Anne mentors students and their parents in preparing for the sacraments.”

The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon offers a French-language Catholic Educational Program that is
widely recognized for its excellence. The CSC Nouvelon provides a quality learning environment and
academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with some 7,000 students enrolled in
27 elementary and 10 secondary schools.
