The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement with the Sudbury District Sports Club that will see a new sports bubble built on the property of École secondaire du Sacré-Cœur in Sudbury. The proposed new all-season sports facility will house two synthetic turf soccer fields and operate year-round.

The CSCNO expects to invest $300,000 in this project and is working with an architect to ensure that all alterations to the site and the school comply with the site plan agreement. Changes made to the École secondaire du Sacré-Cœur parking lot and the addition of external washroom facilities will benefit both students and the community at large.

As part of the agreement, the CSCNO will have access to 50% of the space in the sports bubble from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on school days for the benefit of its students. CSCNO students and staff can also access the facility in the evening depending on availability.

The proposed sports bubble will be operated by the Sudbury District Sports Club. In recent years, this non-profit organization has been looking for a strategic location to host the facility. The SDSC will fund the project and operate the sports bubble.

The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario offers a French Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence. The CSCNO provides a quality learning environment and academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with some 7,000 students enrolled in 27 elementary and 10 secondary schools.
