Delegates from several Catholic educational institutions from France are in Sudbury this week to share strategies and ideas with staff from the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO). This visit is taking place in the context of a partnership agreement between six French language Catholic school boards in Ontario and the Direction diocésaine de l’Enseignement catholique du Puy et de St Flour as well as the Direction diocésaine de l’Enseignement catholique de Clermont et de Moulins, two French Diocesan educational institutions, that will be signed on Thursday, April 12, at 4 p.m. at CSCNO’s head office (20 Jogues St., Sudbury).
“The CSCNO is thrilled to be welcoming French delegates for the first time,” stated Mrs. Lyse-Anne Papineau, CSCNO Director of Education. “This visit will allow us to formalize a partnership agreement which will strengthen French language Catholic education in Ontario and in France through exchanges and the sharing of expertise.”
In addition to signing the partnership agreement, delegates from France will conduct school visits and will be greeted by principals, vice-principals and school staff at École Notre-Dame (Hanmer), École St-Charles Borromée (St-Charles), École St-Pierre (Sudbury), École secondaire catholique Jeunesse-Nord (Blind River), École Notre-Dame-du-Sault (Sault Ste. Marie), École Félix-Ricard (Sudbury) and Collège Notre-Dame (Sudbury). These visits will allow the schools to showcase and explain some of their key initiatives.
Meetings are also scheduled at the school board’s head office to facilitate the sharing of strategies, knowledge, experience and pedagogical resources.
The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario offers a French Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence.
