The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) seeks to offer high quality educational programs, resources and school facilities to all of its students, including those at École élémentaire catholique Georges Vanier in Elliot Lake.
In 2013, the CSCNO and Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board (HSCDSB) conducted a joint feasibility study during which various options pertaining to the optimal use of space in both school boards were studied. In the spring of 2017, the CSCNO conducted a similar study with the Conseil scolaire publique du Grand Nord de l’Ontario (CSPGNO). This study proposes the possible relocation of École élémentaire catholique Georges Vanier to École secondaire Villa Française des Jeunes.
