As part of the festivities organized for their 20th anniversary, Ontario's eight French-language Catholic school boards and the Association franco-ontarienne des conseils scolaires catholiques (AFOCSC) join forces to recognize the work and exceptional commitment of the members of their school communities.
"We are delighted with the academic excellence of French-language Catholic schools in Ontario. Our students obtain superior academic results and the highest graduation rates in the province thanks to our staff’s commitment towards offering a high quality Catholic education. The ongoing support from parents and from our partners enables our students to flourish and to become young Francophone Catholics involved in the community. Once again, many many thanks," said Ms. Lorraine Presley, Chair, Conseil ontarien des directions de l’éducation catholique (CODEC).
Beginning on Monday and throughout October, the Recognition Tour will travel across the province to pay tribute to community leaders who, through their professionalism, their dedication and their generosity on a daily basis, allow French-language Catholic school boards to offer the best French-language education in Ontario.
A series of major and minor events have been secretly organized to pay homage to two leaders from each school board. These individuals were selected because they stand out by their commitment and the scope of their action. They are examples, among countless others, of those who ensure that Catholic schools make a difference in the lives of their students and their communities. Every recipient is an eloquent example, whether it be a staff member, a volunteer parent or a member of the community.
The organization of each event mobilized many people without whom the Tour would not have been possible.
"It is important to emphasize the great work accomplished by members of the Catholic Francophone community. It will be a great surprise for all those who will be recognized. They have every right to be proud!" added Jean Lemay, Chair, Association franco-ontarienne des conseils scolaires catholiques (AFOCSC).
Throughout the month of October, the public is invited to follow the Recognition Tour on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram by tracking: #MeilleureEducation.
