Maxime Lemieux Maxine Lemieux, a grade 12 student at Collège Notre-Dame in Sudbury, will be among the two dozen Francophone students from across the country taking part in the “Jamais trop tôt” competition. This contest, to be presented as part of the Festival international de la chanson de Granby (Granby International Music Festival), will take place in Granby, Québec. During five days, this 16-year-old artist will have received professional musical and artistic training to help her sharpen her artistic talents. The training will be completed on August 23, when Maxine will perform on stage during a professional concert featuring up-and-coming artists.

Hailing from a musical family, Maxine began playing the guitar at the age of nine. In 2015, she rediscovered her passion for music during the 2015 Quand ça nous chante festival in Ottawa. Having already mastered instruments such as the guitar, bass, ukulele and piano, recently added the cello to her musical palette.
Maxine qualified for this international festival due to her outstanding performance at the 2017 Quand ça nous chante music festival in Rockland, where she claimed one of the four solo artist awards (Coup de coeur du meilleur artiste solo). This prize recognizes outstanding individual performances that display professionalism and originality.

The upcoming experience at the Granby International Music Festival will be a significant one, enabling the Collège Notre-Dame student to develop her artistic talent by working alongside professional artists and taking inspiration from them.
