Book Fairs to take place in CSCNO schools

Several Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontarioschools will host a book fair featuring French-language books and educational products during the coming weeks. The book fairs will allow students and their families to choose from a variety of French-language educational products such as books, videos; DVDs, software and educational games will be available. The book fairs will benefit students, since part of the profits will go towards the purchase of educational resources for the school. Admission is free and everyone is invited.

School communities review potential Catholic School sites in Espanola

On November 5th, the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) presented to the presented to the school community of École Saint-Joseph and École secondaire catholique Franco-Ouest school the document entitled “Feasibility Study for the Redevelopment of Catholic Schools in Espanola.” This document, produced jointly with Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board, includes the results of the feasibility study and evaluation of various options pertaining to the utilization of school sites in Espanola.

Public information session on school facilities in Hanmer and Val Thérèse

As part of the Ministry of Education’s priority to update learning infrastructures, the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) will evaluate its students’ needs in regards to school facilities in the communities of Hanmer and Val Thérèse. As part of this process, the CSCNO will undertake a feasibility study of École St-Joseph, École Ste-Thérèse and École Notre-Dame as well as the evaluation of potential utilization options of school sites in Hanmer and Val Thérèse.

The Ministry of Education is encouraging area school boards to work together to address student accommodation needs in Espanola. The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO), Rainbow District School Board and the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board (HSCDSB) are collaborating to determine how best to deliver education in English and in French in this community.
