Espanola Catholic school sites proposal to be reviewed

During its upcoming regular meeting, the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario trustees will review the Espanola Catholic school sites proposal. The meeting, which will be held at the CSCNO board office (201 Jogues St. in Sudbury) on Tuesday, January 28, at 7 p.m., will also be accessible by videoconference at École secondaire catholique Franco-Ouest in Espanola. The CSCNO school communities in Espanola are welcome to attend the meeting at the school.

Register your child in a French Catholic school

JK registration to take place in CSCNO schools on January 20-24 

Parents wishing to register their child in our full-time Junior Kindergarten program and explore the benefits of French Catholic education are invited to visit the elementary schools of the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) during its JK Registration event from Monday, January 20, to Friday, January 24. This event will be of interest to parents of children born in 2010 who will be attending school in September 2014. All parents who wish to explore the many benefits that a quality French language Catholic education can provide their children are cordially invited to attend, along with their families.

School communities review potential school options for Hanmer and Val Thérèse

On January 9, the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) presented during a public meeting the feasibility study and evaluation of the various French language Catholic school site options for its school communities in Val Thérèse (École Ste-Thérèse) and Hanmer (École St-Joseph and École Notre-Dame).

École Notre-Dame-du-Sault students to represent Algoma District in the Provincial First Lego League Competition

Students from Sault Ste. Marie’s École Notre-Dame-du-Sault will represent the Algoma District at the upcoming Provincial First Lego League Competition to take place in Waterloo on January 11. The team, called the Notre-Dame-du-Sault Robots, displayed its ingenuity at the 2013 Algoma Regional First Lego League Competition by placing first overall, earning the right to represent the District of Algoma at this prestigious competition. Past winners of the Algoma Regional First Lego League Competition in 2012, the Robots will be taking part in the third Provincial First Lego League.
