Official launch of the Specialist High Skills Major program in Sports at Collège Notre-Dame in Sudbury

Students and staff at Collège Notre-Dame in Sudbury celebrated today the official launch of the Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) program in Sports. The launch of the newly added program that will enrich the curriculum of this French Catholic secondary school was attended by students, community members and school partners. Collège Notre-Dame is the only French language school in Greater Sudbury to offer this coveted SHSM.

A new French language Catholic school to be built in Hanmer/Val Thérèse!

 The Ontario Ministry of Education recently announced that it is investing $16.5 million in capital funding for the construction of a new French language Catholic school in Hanmer / Val Thérèse. This funding will enable the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) to proceed with its project to build a new school for students currently enrolled at École Notre-Dame (Hanmer), École St-Joseph (Hanmer) and École Ste-Thérèse (Val Thérèse). The funding announcement is the outcome of the CSCNO’s consultation and feasibility study in 2013-2014.

Sixty-six students take part in the 8th annual CSCNO golf tournament

Sudbury – On September 29, 66 grade 7 and 8 students (56 boys and 10 girls) from eleven Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) schools took part in the 8th annual CSCNO golf tournament held at the Twin Stacks Golf Club in Coniston. This competition enabled the talented St-Denis (Sudbury), St-Joseph (Sudbury), Félix-Ricard (Sudbury), St-Augustin (Garson), Jean-Paul II (Val Caron), Notre-Dame (Hamner), Ste-Marie (Azilda), Alliance St-Joseph (Chelmsford), St-Paul (Lively), St-Antoine (Noëlville) and Saint-Joseph (Espanola) golfers to benefit from a friendly competitive encounter with fellow students from neighbouring French Catholic schools.
