The Government of Ontario recently released the 2017 student graduation figures for the province’s Catholic and Public school boards. The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) takes great pride in the fact that 92.7% of its students complete the requirements for their high school diploma in less than five years, with 89.2% receiving their diploma in four years. The CSCNO students’ graduation rate is among the best in Ontario and is the highest among all school boards operating in the districts of Sudbury, Manitoulin and Algoma.
The CSCNO takes great pride in knowing that its Catholic secondary school students consistently achieve this level of excellence. Since 2012, the five-year graduation rate of CSCNO students has systematically hovered around 92%. The 2017 provincial average for graduation within five years of starting secondary school was 86.3%, while 79.8% of students received their diplomas in four years.
“A high school diploma is a tremendous asset in today’s working world, now more than ever,” explained Ms. Lyse-Anne Papineau, Director of Education at the CSCNO. “We are therefore very pleased to see that thanks to our winning strategies and dedicated staff, the CSCNO is a springboard to success for the students we welcome at our secondary schools.”
“We fully believe that our French-language and Catholic school environment and total commitment of our teaching staff and families are valuable assets. While meeting the diverse needs of its students, the CSCNO shines in its ability to provide a learning environment that nurtures student success and personal excellence,” added CSCNO President André Bidal.
The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario offers a French Catholic Educational Program that is widely recognized for its excellence. The CSCNO provides a quality learning environment and academic program that runs from early childhood to adult education, with some 7,000 students enrolled in 27 elementary and 10 secondary schools.
